Projects

Training

Equality Training is currently delivering training programmes for Kent County Council and Kent Police.

  • Conducted quantative and qualitative research for staff and students, and desined training from the findings to support Sussex Downs College in effectively meeting their disability equality duty.
  • Designed training for a London Council to develop an understanding of individuals responsibility and combat harrassment in the workplace.
  • Delivered Equality and Diversity training to York City Council after a training needs analysis identified a gap in knowledge
  • Designed Confidence Building Workshops for Remploy employees to prepare them for job interviews due to impending redundancy
  • Delivered a Master Class, on the social model of disability to Kent Police
  • Delivered Disability Equality Training to large department store to assist them to better meet the needs of their disabled customers.
  • Delivered Disability Equality Training to 3 Borough Councils to assist them to meet the requirements to produce a Disability Equality Scheme and actively promote disability equality under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
  • Worked with a number of Housing Associations delivering bespoke disability equality training across the country.
  • Created an individual self-auditing tool for a large Housing Association.
  • Delivered equality and diversity training for a national older people's charity and a number of Councils for Voluntary Service.
  • Bespoke equality training for information professionals from diverse educational institutions to enhance understanding of obligations under Part IV of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as amended by the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA).
  • Delivered disability equality training for the Prison Service.

Access Audits

  • Experience in office complexes, particularly where customers and members of the public have access, and multi-site organisations
  • Hotel and conference rooms
  • Voluntary Organisations whose client group fit within the DDA
  • Audited well over 100 churches on accessibility and how that fits into the liturgical framework, in all aspects of worship, fellowship and ministry.
  • Assisted 3 listed churches requiring access audits as a condition of grant from English Heritage.
  • Read and advised plans for a new build and extension of existing buildings for accessibility. Making adjustments at the planning stage is cheaper, quicker and more efficient.

Footpaths and Rights of Way

Equality Training works closely with Landnet, a specialist consultancy advising landowners, land managers and their professional advisers on public and private rights of way and access to the countryside.
