Equality and Diversity Training

Our approach is to create an informal environment to provide a relaxed and non-judgemental atmosphere to encourage staff to explore and challange their own views, assumptions and perceptions. Through experientail learning delegates are encouraged to understand the importance of embracing equality and diversity themselves, rather than being told what to do.  We find this approach creates better outcomes and individual 'buy in'.

Overview: 
Clarifies the meaning of equality and diversity, what it means to the individual and the benefits that it can bring to an organisation.  Exploring equality as the framework that enables opportunity, access, participation and contribution that is fair and inclusive whicst acknowledging that diversity respects differences within and between groups of people. 

Taking the theory in to practice, what and how being equal and diverse means strategically and practical applications 

Course objectives:
Describe what Equality and Diversity is and how it has recently developed
Explain the different protected characheteristics covered by EHRC   
List the Acts associated with Equality and Diversity and differentiate types of discrimination
Analyse use of appropriate and non appropriate language 
Question hidden levels of discrimination and stereotyping
Apply learning in to work based scenarios
Determine ways to implement equality and diversity practices in own organisation
